So, let me guess, you have recently become quite aware, (and in our case, almost obsessed),  with your post Christmas/ New Years weight gain.  You know,  those ghastly unwanted pounds that seems to have magically accumulated around your waistline since the holidays?   The same ones you are detemined to be rid off before summer's arrival?   Well fret no more we have the answer.   Former beauty queen and current Smile Jamaica host,  Yendi Phillips, has just released her first of what we are sure will be a series of workout videos called,  "In The Dance".

The new Mother and fitness fanatic decided to create her own video after having difficulty finding a fun, interesting, calorie burning routine to help shed some of those post partum pounds.  Evidently, it worked wonders as Yendi was back to her slim, sexy, pre-baby figure in no time.   We have already purchased our copy and if you would also like a copy you may do so at any Walmart in Canada, or check www.InTheDanceFitness.com  for additional locations.

For those you anxious for a sneek peek of the video, you can take a look here:

FASHION INTERVIEW: JAMAICA

Negril, JAMAICA

PARADISE BY DESIGN

A CHAT WITH NEGRIL BASED DESIGNER SOPHIE EYSSAUTIER

Callaloo Butik

Ever thought about taking a time-out from your everyday life, discarding your fears and embracing your cares to embark on your quest for  your perfect little piece of paradise?  Could you courageously leave behind the familiar in order to fulfill  the desire to experience something a little different than maybe the sometimes spiritually cloistering routine of a 9 to 5?  Perhaps you would find the ideal tropical location to finally open that little boutique where you would design chic socially and environmentally  conscious items.  It would the perfect island inspired retreat slash boutique where you would be able to create with the beach at your doorstep and breathtaking Caribbean vistas just beyond your windows.
That's exactly what French designer, Sophie Eyssautier, did when she had an epiphany and decided to leave a position as a successful designer for Christian Dior, and relocate from fabulous Cannes, France, to exotic Negril, Jamaica.   After making the bold 'new millennium, new life,' move in 2000, Sophie began working with a local company before deciding to go into business for herself  by openingCallaloo Butik in 2003.  She became committed to the idea of designing and producing items that could be proudly stamped with a that "Made In Jamaica" label.
A few years ago the intrepid entrepreneur relocated her popular boutique to idyllic Treasure Beach, Jamaica, where she employs local artisans and crafts people.  Fabrics of only the highest quality, is used to produce her much sought after line of unique children's and women's  wear, among other items.
We recently caught up with Sophie where she agreed to take some time out of her busy schedule to grant us a quick 5 minute interview. Here's what she said:

Lisa Hanna

Who's Jamaica's Sexiest Woman?  According to to the Jamaican Observer news outlet it happens to be the gorgeous Lisa Hanna.  The former Miss World 1993 becoming the third Jamaican to win the title. A member of the governing People's National Party, Hanna currently serves as Member of Parliament for Saint Ann South East and as Jamaica's Minister of Youth and Culture.  I'm sure it was a tough decision as the Island is abound with the most beautiful of women in the world, but we can say that Ms. Hanna is a worthy choice.  In the meantime, we a busy compiling our list of of top ten Jamaican beauties.  Say tuned!  If you have any suggestions please feel free to drop us a line!

Lisa Hochstein

Add one more Jamaican to the roll!  Why you ask?  Well it appears that recently former Playboy Playmate and Miami Housewives reality star, Lisa Hochstein revealed that she is not the prejudiced snob cast-mate Johanna Krupa is trying tho portray her to be.  The reason she provided that made it impossible for her to be anti-immigrant was not only because she is also an inmmigrant, (she migrated to the States from Canada over a decade ago), but because her mother is a BAHN JAMAICAN of German descent.  Looking at her one could not really be surprised that she is of Jamaican descent can you?  If it's one thing Jamaica knows how to do is produce some of the most gorgeous models.  Well guys, it looks like the yard family keeps getting bigger and bigger.  This one looks like a welcome edition.

STREET STYLE: JAMAICA

We love bloggers!  Make no mistake we are not ine of those "Me-Me-Me" blogs that only see the beauty of ourselves. On the contrary,  the love to highlight and acknowledge to contribution of others especially when they are either stylish, fabulous or both!

Take for instance the lovely Lauren from www.LaurenOLauren.com, not only is she a funny and insightful writer,  she happens to be one of the most fashionable Island Girls around.   (And you know how much we love our Island Girls).   We so enjoy her laid back approach to how she chooses her attire as well as her fun loving spirit, we just had to do post showing Lauren's Street Style.

THROWBACK : YENDI PHILLIPS

Former Beauty Queen, television host and new Mom, YENDI PHILLIPS,  impressed her fan even more when she recently posted this photo of her and gorgeous baby daughter, Israel, to her Instagram for 'ThrowBack Thursdays".  The reason for the excitement?  It's not because Yendi is wearing a bikini because we are accustomed to seeing the Island Queen in her a bikini from time to time.  The reason for the uproar is because Yendi reported that this photo was taken a mere 10 WEEKS after the birth of her daughter.  Now that's what we call SNAP BACK!
